MEAS250 - Introduction to Radiometry

Radiometry concerns itself with the measurement of electromagnetic radiation. Electromagnetic radiation includes anything from radio, infrared, visible light, ultraviolet, to x-rays and beyond.

Related to radiometry are the fields of photometry and photonics. Photometry concerns itself with visible light, that is light that can be detected by the human eye. Photonics concerns itself with the quantum nature of light. Photonics concern basically is with counting photons.

These subjects are introduced in three separate courses:

Some of the instrumentation common to all three fields will be introduced in this course. Detailed descriptions of this instrumentation will be covered in separate courses.
