This course is a survey of antenna concepts that are important to understand in the antenna measurement field. It is a prerequisite for courses on antenna measurement techniques. Included in this course will be the following topics:

This course is intended as an introduction to technicians and engineers to basic antenna and antenna measurement concepts. This course is a survey of the concepts, and as such will not go into any one topic in great detail. That will be handled in follow-on courses to this one. The course assumes that you are familiar with basic RF and/or microwave concepts such as power, impedance, and attenuation. Also is assumed knowledge of basic algebra and complex arithmetic (MATH110). Most of the concepts required are reviewed.
