GCC101 - The gcc Compiler

The gcc compiler was developed by the Free Software Foundation as part of the GNU project. It is a compiler collection that can be used for C, C++, Objective-C, Fortran, Java, and Ada programming.

In this course the basics of the gcc compiler will be described. The basics include downloading, installing, and using the compiler. This compiler will be used for several computing courses on LearningMeasure.com.

Basic computer literacy is assumed for this course. This includes the ability to create text files, navigate through the computer's file system, and to run programs from a terminal window or command line.
