Measurement Catalog

This section of the catalog concerns itself with measurement. In particular concepts of measurements, measurement units, and particular types of measurement. This includes concepts such as traceability, accuracy, precision, and uncertainty, as well as specific types of measurement such as temperature, voltage, or angle.

In this course, the basics of IM&TE specifications are covered. In particular what is a specifications, what makes up a specification, the different types of specifications, and how specifications are used in calibration and test.

This course covers some of the basic concepts associated with the presentation of measurement data. It includes the presentation of single values, multiple values in tables, and the graphical presentation of measurement data.

MEAS253 Measurement of Ionizing Radiation

This is an introductory course on ionizing radiation. In particular it discusses the types of ionizing radiation, the measurement units, and some of the instrumentation that is used to measure and characterize ionizing radiation. It is basically a broad overview. It assumes some knowledge of calculus, namely the derivative, but that is not crucial for most of the material in the course.

This course provides a basic introduction to time and frequency measurements. In particular introducing the use of frequency standards, counters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, etc.. in the measurement of frequency.

A basic course in RF and microwave power measurement including the effects of mismatches and losses. A measurement equation for the calibration of a power measurement device is derived for the alternate connection to a stable source method.
